18-year-old Manx midfielder joins EFL League One side
A Manx footballer has signed his first professional contract with EFL League One side Wigan Athletic.
18-year-old Dean Pinnington made the move after a three-and-a-half year spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Born in Douglas, the midfielder first rose through the ranks at the Isle of Man Centre of Excellence, representing the nation at junior level.
Wigan have described their new man as 'tidy in possession, with a good range of passing'.
Pinnington's now the second Manxman in the Latics squad, after Adam Long signed for the club in 2017.
