One-Hour challenge attracts good field
Adam Cowin covered the furthest distance in Sunday’s Welbeck Hotel and Restaurant One-Hour Challenge.
He completed the walking event, promoted by Manx Harriers, having walked 12,182 metres with Tom Partington second (11,908m) and Sam Fletcher third (11,149m).
The first novice on the perimeter roadway of the National Sports Centre was Jason Moffatt who covered 8,996m.
Kathryn Clough was second novice (8,919m) and in joint third were Louise Hollings and Sharon Cain who completed 8,884m.
Archie Walter took the honours in the Half Hour Challenge, completing 4,896m ahead of Leah Goddard in second and Lucy Webber third.
In a very close race, Daniel Lawrie won the Junior one km challenge in seven minutes 39 seconds, a second ahead of Grayse Fletcher who was, in turn, a second ahead of Orla Goddard.
