23-time TT winner feeling positive after opening testing
John McGuinness MBE says he wants to 'keep riding' and 'keep smiling' following Honda Racing UK's first official BSB testing sessions in Spain.
The 23-time TT winner was one of five riders at the team out on track at Navarra which also included fellow road racer Dean Harrison.
Whilst McGuinness racked up laps and miles on his Superbike and Superstock machinery, Harrison had the chance to alternate between his road racing setup and British Supersports CBR600RR.
Following the sessions, McGuinness is describing the bikes as 'great' and 'competitive'.
He comments: "To get everyone back together and to be working so well is great because let's face it, it’s a lot of time living in each other's pockets!
"... Everyone is getting on great and working hard.
"... For me, the bike is great, the bike is competitive and this time last year we hadn’t had much time on the bike so we are in a really good place. There’s no magic wand for me, I just want to keep riding, keep smiling and go racing."
Fellow Honda Racing UK riders Andrew Irwin, Tommy Bridewell and Jack Kennedy were also part of the testing sessions.
During TT 2024, McGuinness managed top-ten finishes in all three races he contested.
His best result saw him finish fifth in the Senior TT whilst he managed sixth and seventh in the Superbike and Superstock races respectively.
