Cav cleared to compete
Mark Cavendish will compete in the fortchoming Milan-San Remo - that's despite suffering a fractured rib earlier this month.
He's been in the wars a bit so far this season - the Team Dimension Data rider crashed during the Abu Dhabi Tour in February before he was involved in another unfortunate incident at the Tirreno-Adriatico.
The second of those, which happened just last week, left him with a fractured rib.
Cavendish says he's not looking for a repeat of his 2009 win, but is determined to help his team mates.
Another Manxman set to feature at the major first classic race of the season is Team Novo Nordisk's Sam Brand.
And Island residents Ian Stannard and Ben Swift will be in the Team Sky and UAE Team Emirates lineups, respectively.
The race takes place on Saturday.
