The Isle of Man's local authorities need to be reinvented.
That's the belief of a candidate standing in Castletown in next month's general election.
Local commissioner Colin Leather says attempts to reform the system in the past have been unsuccessful, but the matter still needs to be addressed (listen to audio file below):
Four other people have declared their intention to contest the single seat in Castletown, the others being Jason Moorhouse, David Pownall, and Mr Leather's fellow commissioners Carol Quine and Richard Ronan.
