Club hosting meeting this weekend to discuss plans
Laxey AFC is exploring the possibility of bringing back a women's football team for the upcoming season.
The club is hosting an open meeting, at 10am on Saturday (12 August), for those involved or interested in women's football to discuss getting the plan off the ground.
Barry Duncan - assistant manager of the Laxey men's side - says they'd need around 25 players to form a squad.
He hopes, as well as getting a team out, in the long run it could inspire more women and girls to take on other footballing roles at the club:
Rugby: A win and a defeat for national sides on the road
Football: IoM women fight back to beat FC United of Manchester
TT 2026: Jamie Williams announces withdrawal from this year's event
Rugby: Vagabonds Ladies quartet in Cheshire squad this weekend
