Football: Division 2 title rivals to meet this weekend

Battle of second versus third in premier league also awaits (Fixtures: 11-12 Jan)

The two current title contenders in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 meet in a potentially pivotal encounter this weekend as part of the latest league fixtures across the Isle of Man.

Saturday (11 January) will see current Division 2 table-toppers Braddan take on second-placed Douglas High School Old Boys (Dhsob.) among tomorrow's 2pm kick-offs.

Braddan sit three points above 'Old Boys' heading into this weekend, however the visitors remain undefeated in the league and also have two games in hand.

Elsewhere, Peel will be looking to maintain their advantage at the top of the Canada Life Men's Premier League when they host St George's.

Peel are three points better off than defending champions Ayre United in second who are yet to taste defeat in the league so far this campaign and have played a game less than the westerners.

Ayre United themselves face a potentially tough trip to third-placed Corinthians who could leapfrog the northerners should they win at Ballafletcher by three or more goals.

All of Saturday's fixtures are due to get underway at 2pm with the exception of St Mary's vs St John's United in the Canada Life Men's Premier League which will start at the earlier time of 1.45pm.
