World number nine takes on Manx players
The Chess.com Isle of Man International is in full flow at the Villa Marina - but before the action got underway, the Isle of Man Chess Club was treated to a rare opportunity.
Twenty members of the Manx scene took part in what is called a 'simul', three days before the tournament started - which meant they all played simultaneously against the same player.
But not just any player - their opponent was Grandmaster Wesley So, the world number nine.
In the 20 chess matches, GM So scored 18 wins and two draws - with only International Master Dietmar Kolbus and reigning Manx champion Baard Dahl being the players who managed to hold on for a draw.
