Champs crushed
Douglas Royal issued a firm warning to their title rivals on Sunday.
A 4-1 success over reigning champions Corinthians – who completed a clean sweep in women’s football last season – showed how keen they are to regain their status as the Island’s top team.
Leanne Quayle (two), Sarah Breen and Rebecca Cole netted for Royal.
Two other clubs who could also contest the Regency Travel championship met ay Douglas Road with Becky Corkish and Maxine Smalley on target as Peel saw off Gymns 2-0.
Kim Watson was the star of the show as Old Boys put eight past new club Douglas Athletic without reply.
She hit five with Helen Cooper grabbing a hat-trick.
