Isle of Man cycling star Mark Cavendish has been to Buckingham Palace today (Wednesday).
The 'Manx Missile' received his MBE from the Queen, 'for services to cycling'.
It was announced Cav was to become a Member of the Order of the British Empire in Her Majesty's Birthday Honours List, which was published in June.
It has been a fantastic year for Cav, who became Britain's first green jersey winner in the Tour de France in July, and the first British male world road race champion for 46 years, in Denmark in September.
He is also favourite to become BBC Sports Personality of the Year, next month (December).
Fellow Manx sports star David Knight was awarded an MBE at the same time at Cav, and received his honour from the Queen a fortnight ago.
