The news that Peter Kennaugh has withdrawn from the Commonwealth Games in Delhi is being seen as a big loss for the Isle of Man cycling squad and the team in general.
Kennaugh was the most likely to win a medal on the track and was targeting the Points and Scratch races.
He won the British National Track Championship Scratch title at the Manchester Velodrome last night (Thursday) to demonstrate the form he is in.
Peter Kennaugh is a professional rider with Team Sky and would have been the lead out man in the road race for the other pro cyclist in the Manx ranks.
The focus now switches to Mark Cavendish, and whether he will represent the Island in Delhi..
