Big rise in young voters welcomed

The outgoing chief minister is pleased with the number of 16 and 17-year-olds who have registered to vote in Thursday's House of Keys general election.

In 2006, the first election in which they had the vote, 724 took advantage of the change.

This time 1,297 have registered.
