Former British Lion, England and Northampton player Martin Bayfield is to be the Guest of Honour at Ramsey Rugby Club's 25th birthday dinner party.
The six foot ten inch lock gained 31 caps for England between 1991 and 1996 winning two grand slams. 18 of his appearances were alongside World Cup winning captain Martin Johnson.
His three games for the Lions were on the 1995 tour of New Zealand.
A serious neck injury sustained in training in 1998 forced him to retire.
As well as working as a Television presenter and journalist, a little known fact is that Martin has appeared in the Harry Potter films. He played the half-giant Hagrid, normally played by Robbie Coltrane, in longer shots which needed to emphasise Hagrid's height.
He is also an Honorary President of the Wooden Spoon rugby charity which supports disadvantaged children and young people.
The Ramsey black tie dinner takes place on Saturday 1st December at Mount Murray. Tickets are priced at £40 and are available from Dave Christian (817580 or 454516) or Will Moffatt (470094).
