New look for outdoor education centre Ardwhallan
A ‘wellbeing centre’ for the Isle of Man’s young people will be opened this year.
The Education, Sport and Culture Minister says it will be located at Ardwhallan in West Baldwin.
The charity owned outdoor pursuit centre closed in April 2021 following the resignation of a member of staff.
At the time government said it would be reviewing all services provided to schools from the location; and now Minister Julie Edge says there has been progress:
Manx Radio has requested further information about the plans for the Ardwhallan site – the DESC says it will form part of the new Youth Strategy and provide 'more opportunities to participate in outdoor activities'.
