Candidate wants to explore grant system
Higher education isn't the only way for young people to develop skills and abilities.
That's the view of Douglas East by-election candidate Cat Turner.
The LibVan member thinks far too much emphasis is placed on university, neglecting other routes of training.
If elected to the House of Keys on Thursday, she'll look at introducing a university grant system based on achievement.
Speaking on Mandate, Ms Turner said university isn't for everyone:
The other candidates are Jon Joughin, Claire Bettison, Kurt Buchholz, Richard Falk, John McBride and Geraldine O'Neill.
