Taylor Jake Murphy found dead at Isle of Man Prison
The serving prisoner who died at the Isle of Man Prison has been named.
Taylor Jake Murphy was being held on remand at the Jurby facility.
Police are currently working with the prison to ‘understand the full circumstances’ around his death.
Mr Murphy’s family have been informed, and are being supported, and his death has been reported to the Coroner of Inquests.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Man Prison and Probation Service said: “As is standard procedure, following any death in custody, the circumstances will be subject to an independent investigation.
“It would be inappropriate to comment further while that process is ongoing.
“The Isle of Man Prison and Probation Service extends its condolences to Mr Murphy's family and friends at this difficult time.”
No further information will be released at this stage.
