Alfred Cannan reacts to Rishi Sunak's announcement
The controversial move in the UK to extend the period in which new diesel and petrol cars can be purchased by five years until 2035, has caused additional uncertainty for car users and businesses.
That's the view of Chief Minister Alfred Cannan who told Manx Radio the matter will be discussed imminently in the Council of Ministers in a bid to clarify the position.
The announcement of an extended deadline was made earlier this week by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and immediately provoked an angry response from environmental groups.
Mr Cannan says the position must be clarified:
Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital closure 'inconvenient' but 'significant issues' need to be fixed
Four local authorities looking for by-election candidates
Reinstatement of home births 'remains at top of agenda' for Manx Care
Weekend sailings at risk
