46-year-old, who grew up on the Isle of Man, was killed in 2013
The UK Justice Secretary has blocked the release of a man who killed his wife with a hammer.
Joanna Simpson, who grew up on the Isle of Man, was killed by her ex-husband Robert Brown in Berkshire 2010.
Convicted of manslaughter, he was due to be freed in November after serving half of his 26-year jail sentence.
The BBC is reporting that Ms Simpson's family met UK Justice Secretary Alex Chalk and his predecessor Dominic Raab in an attempt to stall Brown's release.
Joanna's mum, Diana Parkes, fought against it.
Diana set up the Joanna Simpson Foundation in her daughter's memory, which focuses on helping children on the Island who have been impacted by domestic violence.
