Some traders in Douglas have been left rueing lost sales and business after an incident on a building site shut the main shopping street yesterday.
A concrete lorry involved with building work on Strand Street tipped onto its side, sparking a recovery operation that lasted well into the evening.
For health and safety reasons, the street was closed – with a number of shops stuck inside the cordon where customers couldn’t reach them.
