Commissioner hits out at those pushing for move
The chairman of Port St Mary Commissioners says there's no public mandate to merge the local authority with its counterpart in Port Erin.
Laurence Vaughan-Williams is concerned that members within both authorities are trying to undertake amalgamation by stealth, a move he says hasn't been consulted on with the public.
An annual general meeting is being held by Port St Mary Commissioners on Wednesday (9 May).
Mr Vaughan-Williams says ratepayers are 'fed up' with squabbling on the issue, and warns any merger would be undemocratic:
