Legislation to allow Island to deal with Brexit fallout
The topic of so-called 'sunset clauses' came up in the Legislative Council on Tuesday.
Kate Lord-Brennan MLC put forward amendments in the upper chamber which mirrored those moved in the House of Keys by Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, during the passage of the European Union and Trade Bill.
The legislation is designed to allow the Island to deal with any fallout from Brexit.
After some discussion from all members, the amendment failed to carry.
The second reading the clauses stage passed through the Legislative Council.
