But MHK criticises pace of progress on Castletown site

The education minister says "substantial progress" has been made on the design of the new Castle Rushen High School.

Daphne Caine says the project is now at RIBA Stage Two - the concept design stage - which sets out how the building could look and function.

Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper criticised the pace of progress, describing it as still at a 'very early stage' and warning that, if cost proposals are delayed beyond June 2026, the current administration would be unable to scrutinise them.

Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood has previously expressed hope that there would be spades in the ground by summer next year.
