The first person to speak on Manx Radio has been reminiscing about the first broadcast on the station, fifty years ago on Sunday.
John Grierson founded the station, and was its first general manager.
Speaking live on Mandate on Monday morning from his home in Cornwall, he said that first time going live on air was not the moment to ponder the significance of it:
