Today marks 25 years since the sinking of a fishing trawler off the Isle of Man.
Seven Scottish crewmen - three from the same family - died when the Solway Harvester sank while heading for shelter in Ramsey Bay during heavy storms.
RNLI crewman John McCreadie was called out to assist with the search on 11 January 2000:
Dudley Butt, who was the Detective Chief Inspector at the Isle of Man Constabulary at the time, was assigned the case hours after the incident.
He recalls how he broke the news to the families that their bodies had been recovered from the vessel:
The chief minister will lay a floral tribute at the Solway Harvester memorial tomorrow at 2.30pm.
