Soap Box Race cancelled due to lack of insurer

Hopes event will return in 2022

This year's Douglas Soap Box Race, which was due to take place next month, has been called off.  

Despite an intensive search an insurer for this year's event cannot be found.

However sponsors MicroGaming are still donating £1,000 to the event's chosen cause The Fire Fighters Charity.

It's hoped the event, which runs from Athol Street down Church Street and Barrack Street, can be staged in 2022.
