The ice rink would operate from 10am to 10pm across the four weeks
Plans have been submitted for an ice rink in the centre of Douglas this Christmas.
Frosty's Wonderland Isle of Man Ltd wants to run the ice rink in the former Lord Street car park from 12 December to 10 January.
The company, which has run several events across the Island for several years, said the ice rink would operate from 10am to 10pm across the four weeks.
All of this would be housed in a 12m x 42m marquee and include a small Christmas market with up to four vendors.
Its application said: "Skating will run on a timed session basis, with rink capacity set at 100 skaters per session across up to 10 sessions a day, to manage capacity and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
"The event is anticipated to attract between 30,000 and 40,000 visitors over the event period, consistent with previous events of this type held by the applicant on the Island."
It adds that onsite parking will be available with music played at a 'moderate background level'.
