Black graffiti sprayed over ancient monument
Manx National Heritage says it's 'shocked and disappointed' that an historic site in Castletown has been vandalised.
The ruins at Hango Hill have been spray painted with graffiti.

It's a Bronze Age burial mound, and is famously known as the site of the execution of Illiam Dhone.
Also known as William Christian, he was a Manx politician and a significant figure in the Isle of Man during the English Civil War and the Manx Rebellion of 1651.
In 1663 he was found guilty of high treason and executed by firing squad on Hango Hill, and has since become known as the 'Manx martyr'.
There are the remains of a post-medieval summer house still at the site today, and it’s those that have been vandalised.
Black paint looks to have been sprayed across both the remaining structures.
It’s an offence to damage an ancient monument, and as a result Manx National Heritage says it’s reported the incident to the police.

MNH is currently assessing the damage and will determine the most appropriate approach to restoring the monument.
