
Lone parents in the Island are going to be hit by government cuts.
Social Care chiefs have revealed plans that mean parents with older children will no longer qualify for income support simply because they’re a lone parent.
The move has to be approved by Tynwald.
Minister Chris Robertshaw says the change would mean single parents would look for work once their child reaches the age of 12, rather than 16.
