Over £2million lost on the Island through reported scams in 2024
Over £2 million of financial loss through scams has been reported to the Isle of Man Constabulary in 2024.
Nine thousand, three hundred and seventy-two emails were sent to the suspicious email reporting service and 497 cyber concerns were raised.
The figure has been revealed by the police in what marks 'Cyber October'.
Throughout the month, the Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team, alongside the Cyber Security Centre, has been delivering a series of talks to elderly and vulnerable people to raise awareness of common cyber-security threats.
