Volunteer numbers at record low
If you've ever considered joining the Samaritans but have held back from making a commitment, there's a chance to find out exactly what's involved this summer.
The charity's hosting a series of information sessions from next month, in a drive to recruit new volunteers.
There'll be a chance to talk to other Samaritans, ask questions and find out about the training and support on offer.
Numbers volunteering their time with the 24/7 listening service are 'as low as they've ever been' according to Samaritans' Isle of Man director.
Suzanne Harding was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours for long service with the charity - she says the current need is acute:

The information sessions are on 12 July, 2 August and 6 September, all take place at the Douglas branch in Victoria Place.
