Rwandan people helped by Manx charity

Health and education facilities for thousands of people in a Rwandan village are being transformed, thanks to the generosity of Manx people.

Save the Children Isle of Man raised its target of £90,000 last year, to mark the charity's 90th anniversary.

Half of that came from local fund-raising events, with the balance donated by the government's Overseas Aid Committee.

The money's been ring-fenced for the Rwandan village project, where a new medical centre and schools are already rising from the ground.

And it's equipping the local population with the skills to shape their own future.
