Review of election operation to begin

Follows mix-ups in last month's general election

There’s to be a full review of the operation and organisation of last month’s general election.

A motion by an MLC was unanimously approved by Tynwald yesterday (Tuesday).

David Cretney called for an in-depth assessment with recommendations for the running of future House of Keys contests.

It's after this year's election saw a polling station mix-up in Ramsey and ballot box blunders in the constituencies of Garff and Ayre and Michael.

Mr Cretney will be joined on the examining committee by four newly-elected MHKs, David Ashford, Daphne Caine, Clare Bettison and Martyn Perkins.
