Outgoing president reflects on changes during time in Tynwald

Laurence Skelly will step down from his role later today

The outgoing president of Tynwald says current politicians face greater challenges due to social media and AI.

Laurence Skelly will bow out of politics today (21 July) when his successor is elected.

The former Rushen MHK has been a member of the Island's parliament since 2011 and has presided over the court for the last five years.

The election of a new president will be the first item of business at this month's sitting of Tynwald which gets underway at 10am.
