Minister says students need grants
A review of the financial support local students receive towards their university costs should be completed next year.
Education and Children Minister Graham Cregeen told Tynwald it was important young people in the Island were backed sufficiently with grants from his department.
Since September 2014, local students have also had to make their own contribution, of around £2,500 per year, towards their tuition fees which are determined by UK universities.
