Residents group 'more determined than ever' to fight for Cregneash route

Third public meeting was held in Port St Mary last night

The organiser of a group of concerned residents says they are 'more determined than ever' to fight for the reinstatement of a bus service to the south of the Island.

Christa Viohl led a public meeting in Port St Mary last night (20 November) to further discuss the scrapping of the 28 route.

The service to Cregneash was cut by the Department of Infrastructure because it was 'no longer financially viable'.

But Christa told Manx Radio the group has gathered over 2,000 signatures from people who want to see it back in action:

The petition has been handed over to Rushen MHK Juan Watterson to present to Tynwald.

The next public meeting will take place at the Albert in Port St Mary next month (date and time TBD).
