How to build a viable tourism industry while preserving the Island's unique environment and culture.
That challenge is the topic for the Positive Action's group's latest public meeting tonight (Monday).
The speaker is PhD student Brendan Canavan, who's investigating the impact of tourism in contrasting island communities in northern Europe.
Mr Canavan, based at Nottingham University, has carried out detailed research on tourism in Lewis and Harris in the Scottish Hebrides, Belle Ile in Brittany and the Isle of Man.
He's looked at how the industry can have a positive effect on island economies but has the potential to threaten their unique culture and natural landscapes.
Mr Canavan will speak on sustainable island tourism at tonight's PAG meeting at the Manx Legion in Market Hill, Douglas from 7.30pm.
