Success of 24-hour event shocks organisers
The organiser of a charity event says she was 'shocked to tears' at the amount of money donated.
Lynn Bell made the comments after a six-figure sum was raised by those taking part in the recent Relay For Life at the NSC in Douglas.
More than 800 people took part in the event which lasted 24 hours from 26-27 August.
Teams of between eight and 15 people had to continuously walk around the NSC track, raising £100,000 for Cancer Research UK in the process.
It takes the overall total raised in the seven years the Relay has been taking place to £600,000.
