The politician responsible for proposed new housing legislation says it is all about protection.
Chris Robertshaw says the Landlord and Tenant Bill will look after both property owners and vulnerable tenants.
He says the bill is looking to find a reasonable balance between the rights of landlords and those of private tenants.
However, the Manx Landlords Association believes the plans are more geared towards the tenants.
Mr Robertshaw is keen to allay their concerns.
