'Realigning' Manx Care mandate 'not austerity', says chief minister

However, the former health minister believes it can't be seen in any other way

The chief minister insists that "realigning" Manx Care's mandate to fit the upcoming budget is not a move towards austerity.

The government recently rejected some of the health body's proposed cost-saving measures that would have impacted frontline services.

Former health minister Lawrie Hooper called this a "significant victory" and a shift in government policy.

However, Alfred Cannan says it’s "not a victory for anybody":
