
The first meeting of the Ramsey Postal Co-Operative Group is being held this morning (Feb 6).
Campaigners opposed to the closure of the town's Crown post office are joining together, to consider mounting a bid to operate a sub post office in the Courthouse building. Their first meeting is in the board room at Ramsey town hall, 1030.
There's been strong resistance among local residents to plans by Isle of Man Post Office to transfer services to the nearby Spar shop.
The chairman of Ramsey Commissioners is spearheading the movement, which includes volunteer professionals from the finance and legal sectors.
However, Captain Nigel Malpass insists no specialist skills are needed to join the group:
