Chair says building is an 'iconic' part of the town

Ramsey Town Commissioners says it's 'really pleased' The Grove Museum has been put forward for inclusion on the Protected Buildings Register.

The museum - one of the Island's most authentic Victorian houses and gardens - is one of nine buildings currently being considered.

Others include the Laxey Wheel, the Leece Museum in Peel and the Calf of Man Bird Observatory.

The Grove is the home of the Gibb family; in 1976 its contents, gardens and land was bought by Manx National Heritage.

The house, and its Victorian and Edwardian collectibles, secluded walled garden, Loaghtan sheep, and horse-drawn threshing mill offer a rare chance to step into life as it was for three-generations of the same family and their servants.
