Derek Flint was absent for three months due to investigation
Ramsey Commissioners has confirmed that the town clerk and chief executive has been reinstated following a three-month investigation.
The local authority says it is 'pleased' that Derek Flint, has been 'exonerated' of any wrongdoing and has returned to his position with immediate effect.
It adds that allegations were made against him by a standing commissioner and during the process 'policy, procedural and organisational' issues were highlighted.
Deputy Chair Sandra Cottam-Shea said it has been a 'difficult' time for the commissioners and for Mr Flint who has served the board and the town 'selflessly' since taking on the role in January 2025.
She added: "I and the Board are pleased to welcome him back to the helm and I know he will redouble his efforts to deliver the strategic plan as set by the elected members.’
Derek Flint said: "There is work to be done and a lot of catching up to, but I know that with our excellent workforce, this will be a sharp and focused exercise. I am glad to be back leading a great team, who have continued to do their best through a period of considerable uncertainty."
