Prisoners praised for conduct during Covid restrictions

Visits haven't been allowed since early August

Inmates at Isle of Man Prison have been praised for their understanding of recent Covid-19 restrictions at the facility.

Prison visits were temporarily suspended in early August after five Covid-19 cases were identified there.

As of Tuesday this week, the prison has been covid-free for just under 28 days.

Prison Governor, Leroy Bonnick, was asked how prisoners have coped with the recent protocols in place:

It's hoped prison visits can resume from this weekend

This is subject to the outcome of a meeting between prison and health officials this week.
