Onchan chip shop speaks out on the cost of much-loved whitefish
If you regularly treat yourself to a chippy tea it won't have escaped your notice that the price of fish has risen steeply in recent times.
Cod in particular has become more of a luxury than a family staple.
Johnny McDowell, owner of the New Cod on the Block chippy in Onchan says the much loved whitefish is now as expensive as sirloin steak.
And the reason for the price rise is not just shortages because of overfishing:
