It seems shoppers are voting with their purses when it comes to buying local produce.
A survey carried out by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture reveals that more people than ever are buying Manx goods.
It's the second time in two years that 1,500 people have been questioned about their shopping habits and the results will be used to give producers an insight into what consumers want.
Among other things the survey shows that freshness, convenience and quality are the main reasons for buying local food, with price being less important that the number of miles from field to fork.
DEFA project officer Kim Etherton says, on the whole, the results are very positive:
