
Pest control charges are being scrapped for schools in the Isle of Man.
Local Government Minister John Shimmin says his department’s waiving the charge to protect the health, safety and welfare of youngsters.
The policy change follows a recent question in Tynwald.
Mr Shimmin says some schools in rural areas were hit harder than those in towns under the old system, and he believes the small saving should be used for educational purposes:
