Police yet to identify man found dead in Douglas

Investigation continuing on Back Marina Road

Police have still not been able to identify the male found dead in Douglas last night.

In an update at midday, officers say 'numerous inquiries are taking place' to find out what happened on Church Road Marina.

Emergency services were called to the area at 7pm last night, when a man was discovered 'unresponsive'.

An investigation is ongoing and police still have the area, Back Marina Road, closed (behind the Sefton Hotel and Gaiety Theatre) although all other roads have now reopened.

Police are also imploring people to refrain from speculation, as rumours have been circulating on different social media platforms.

Inspector Gavin Callow says it's important to stop the spread of misinformation.
