Pensioner's money successfully intercepted
Police are urging people to continue reporting online scams after successfully reuniting a Manx pensioner with the money she sent to scammers.
The 76-year-old woman was duped into sending cash to Northampton after they fooled her into thinking they were her bank.
When she reported it to the Office of Cyber Security and Information Assurance they fast tracked an investigation, linked up with colleagues in the UK and managed to intercept the money.
Four people who were arrested in Northampton have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
