Points and fine for Santon man

First offence sees 22-year-old handed £600 fine

A Santon man's pleaded guilty to a series of driving offences.

22-year-old Anthony John Lewis admitted riding his motorcycle without a licence or insurance in May this year - as well as failing to notify a change of ownership.

He appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

Police pulled Lewis over on Bucks Road at around 4am on Saturday, May 7 as he only had one 'L' plate on his bike rather than the required two.

The court heard how his provisional licence had expired just days before - with Lewis blaming money troubles for the reason he didn't buy insurance immediately.

Mrs Hughes fined him £600 and gave him 6 points on his licence.

She added his good character had been lost after what was Lewis' first offence.
