Bad weather and the economic downturn combined to make August a depressing month at Ronaldsway airport, according to the latest figures.
They show show just under 3,700 fewer people used the airport last month than in August 2008, a drop of around five per cent.
Transport Minister David Anderson is hopeful the downward trend will soon reverse, but admits the statistics are worse than expected:
